Invisalign clear braces can reposition crooked and misaligned teeth gradually. This orthodontic treatment can address a wide range of orthodontic concerns without having to sacrifice the aesthetic of your smile during the process.
At Foothills Dentistry, we offer Invisalign treatment for teens and adults who are seeking an easy and discreet solution for their orthodontic concerns. Ideally, dentists use Invisalign to treat mild to moderate orthodontic issues. They may rely on Invisalign to treat a variety of conditions including:
- Overcrowded teeth
- Gaps between the teeth
- Open Bite
- Straighten Teeth
How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign treatment uses a series of clear, removable aligners that the patient will switch out every two weeks to help shift the teeth into proper alignment. Patients can use Invisalign as the only form of orthodontic treatment, or it can be used after the teeth have shifted after prior orthodontic treatment.
Invisalign’s sleek and discreet design makes it the ideal treatment for both teens and adults. It requires fewer visits to the dentist, and it allows patients to straighten their teeth without sacrificing the appearance of their smile.
Patients can remove their aligners for special events, to enjoy their favorite foods, or to perform their oral hygiene routine. Most dentists recommend patients wear their aligners for at least 22 hours a day to achieve the full benefits of their Invisalign treatment.
During your orthodontic consult, Dr. Chahal will evaluate your smile, discuss your cosmetic goals, and determine if Invisalign or another orthodontic treatment is right for you. If Invisalign is right for you, we will begin to build your personalized treatment plan.
Invisalign VS. Metal Braces
Whenever applicable, many patients opt for Invisalign over traditional metal braces. Like traditional braces, Invisalign can correct the appearance of crooked teeth. Many choose Invisalign for these key benefits:
- Convenience: On average, patients using Invisalign require fewer visits to the dentist.
- Improved Dental Health: Invisalign treatment allows patients to remove their aligners for a few hours a day. During this time, patients can perform their normal oral hygiene routine without making any special changes to their oral health routine. Patients can brush and floss without worry.
- Speed: On average, patients only wear their aligners for 12 to 18 months.
The Invisalign Process
The Invisalign process is a quick and simple process. It requires patients to visits our office at least twice during the planning phase. To help create an effective and personalized treatment, we use an advanced tool called the iTero Digital Scanner.
This advanced technology eliminates the need for messy impressions and improves the patient experience. With the iTero digital scanner, we can build a more precise treatment. It also allows us to create aligners that are custom made for your smile.
With the iTero digital scanner, patients can view their future smile on the computer screen. ITero digital scanner can produce high resolution, interactive 3-D images of your smile, so patients can see what their smile will look like before their treatment begins.
We will send the digital impressions and images of your teeth to a local Invisalign lab. Once your aligners are ready, we will invite your back to our office. Dr. Chahal will check the fit of your aligners and explain all aspects of your care. We will schedule any future visits to check your progress during your treatment.
How long until I begin to see results with Invisalign?
Patients will not see results right away after starting treatment. They must remember that this treatment is physically changing bone structure, so it is a slow process. Many patients begin to see changes and shifts in their bite after wearing their Invisalign for at least two to three months.
How many hours a day should I wear Invisalign?
You must wear your aligners for 22 hours a day. This means only removing them to eat or drink. Patients will see the fastest and most effective results if they wear their Invisalign as much as possible.
Does Invisalign change your face shape?
Invisalign can sometimes remodel patients’ face shapes and side profiles. Crooked teeth can have an impact on a patient’s bone structure, which also affects the shape of their face. Invisalign can change the shape and structure of patients’ faces in a positive light.
